New Faces, New Voices is a Pan African organization was launched in Nairobi in 2010 by Mama Graca Machell, a social and political activist and an international advocate for women’s and children’s rights. It focuses on expanding the participation and influence of women in the financial sector. It is strongly bound by the vision ‘African Women Enhancing Sustainable Development’ and a mission to advocate for innovative investment in African women, ensuring they take center stage and contribute their value and influence in the financial sector and winder economy.

The goals of New Faces, New Voices are to improve the economic well-being of women and their families, to reduce inequalities, and to strengthen African economies and societies. They have three clear objectives:

  • To increase women’s access to finance and financial services.
  • To strengthen the skills and capacity of women as consumers, entrepreneurs and investors to access finance.
  • To increase the number and visibility of African women in leadership and decision-making positions in the financial sector

Women have the potential to contribute significantly to economic growth in Africa. Research shows that if the financial and business sectors become more inclusive to women, the result will be a large-scale and fundamental shift in the business and financial landscape across Africa.
